Prince of Persia (Persia!?)

Rate this Entry
I've just watched "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" movie. Undoubtedly, it is a great movie and I can not say I didn't love it as a common watcher. But there is a but and for this "but" I'm writing this entry; but as an Iranian I wanted to shout, cry and bump my head into the monitor. You say why? Just watch it yourself.

One of the disasterous things in this movie is the architecture. All and I mean all the buildings shown are based on Arabic and Islamic architecture. None and I mean none of them were on the basis of original Persian style as we see in Prseh (Takht-e-Jamshid). Another disaster is the used names for characters. The name of the prince's uncle is Nizam,i.e. Nezam (Arabic). The wicked character's name is Hassansins and the list probably goes on if you watch it more carefully. And last but not the least, the background voices are all Arabic.

So everybody be and stay happy for what you see and what you hear about exporting Iranian culture to the world!

You are right, those movies give us nothing but a headache, and what do you expect them to make?
They have no information about our culture, believe it or not ...think about the other movie "300"
I think we should stop watching those movies, I do.....

Yeah, and that's why I started chehrenameh.com. To build a place solely for Persian people to gather together and try to know themselves more.
