What are we really proud of?

I think nowadays I fancy writing more and share my thought with others. Sometimes we are indolent about writing and blogging there and there, simply because we think we would make a lot of mistakes both literally and knowledgably, but I believe that’s not true and if you do not take it easy and if you do not play it by the ear, you would make complications which bring you nothing but a stopping barrier. So, let’s let it up!

This time I want to write about the current events and funny while shocking speeches and actions which are taking place in Iran. After the presidential election there’s been a lot of unrest in Tehran and other cities, more sanctions, increasing inflation, paradoxical claims from officials and leaders, libeling from political parties on media, and more suchlike which it won’t be finished if I keep up writing till tomorrow, because when tomorrow comes there will be more stuff like them, and you will never reach to the end.

Not bad if we just ponder about the sum and substance of the Islamic Revolution’s founder’s goals and overlook. Undoubtedly the current rules and situation are not what the founder had in mind and fought for! Then, what are these? Who are they out there to treat you, I and others like this?

I know it’s a controversial issue and there’s lot to talk about and the answer will not fit into one or two paragraphs, but my big surprise which is getting me all the time is why on earth all the Iranians who always claim and take pride in their 3000-year-old history and cry their powerful and unforgettable kings like Koroush would ever let the situation of their land comes to this point and they are only boasting their enriched and splendid history on walls, in books and chain emails and SMSs but in fact all that stuff bring them nothing in their real life and the system which is governing them?

Excuse me, I don’t know anything about the world and Iran history but I’m speaking from the surface facts that I see these people are showing enthusiastically and I’m talking based on the claims and current evidence. My question is that when one is proud of a powerful background of his past Kings, culture, tradition and . . . then the most logical question is that what can those victorious achievements and admirable background do for him now? Where is the impact and consequences of that significant background? How those things can save him from the current chaotic situation now?! Are they only good to be printed in books and be taught in colleges abroad so that when our foreigner classmates or coworkers gets known about them we wear a complacent smile in a waiting-for-a-camera gesture?

Nope, please count me out, as long as I live in such a rich country but in a poor situation, as long as I see my land so many decades behind even the third world counties, as long as that I see and experience that even the most basic human rights are not observed and available in this land, I feel no sense in taking pride in foresaid historical milestones, individuals and events, not even to mention them out!

Mind you?!

I have far more criticisms. You know, the worst part is that they are gradually clearing that background, too and trying to replace it by themselves! They believe they themselves mean everything to the country and all the ancestors have done has been nothing comparing to what they have served the land. If you follow real news you probably will end up in a madhouse. So the best practice is to follow governmental news agencies and do not mind your mind ! However as Molana says, it's impossible for us to come to state of a donkey!

I'm sorry to say but most of us that claim to be Iranian are really not. We are simply not Iranian. The fact that our friend rezafo mentioned is deadly true if we can proof that we are one of those great men and women lived thousands of years ago. We do not know....Let's not bother anyone...I do not know what I am...Am I an Arab ? A Kurdi? Or probably a Turk? Where am I? What was I ? Or I am....This is the question

Exactly! I also think our worst problem is that we do not know who we are. If we could believe we are Iranians, we might start to like to know more about our real past and try somehow to become like our mighty ancestors.

Thanks for your feedbacks. Yes, and I do believe that we are to trace our identity so that not to make a false comparison and judgment. But the point is that when I mentioned that those so-called Iranians are blowing their own trumpet, it is assumed and settled that they are the descendants of real Persian people.

More to it, suppose that during the various wars and immigration a mixed generation have been brought about which can't be called an Iranian to the core, but I think still it will not vitiate the discussed matter.

Or maybe, having read your sayings we could look at it through this perspective that, although they know they are not originally Persian, they try hard to get back to their origin and do their best to revive, preserve and promulgate the glorious heritage of Persian history and background.

If the latter point of view seems more pleasing and upbeat then the matter of the cost and damage would knock at the door to be discussed.
